Superbowl is coming! I’m not really into football (like, at all); however: one staple of the Superbowl is the best and funniest commercials are aired. On the subject of morals, customs, mores, and the relative nature of right and wrong: It is often the case that what is “right” in one culture, one time, is totally “wrong” in another culture, or at another time.
Nothing proves this better than dumb laws: laws that surely must’ve made some sense to someone somewhere, [...]

Looking at the list of recently released movies, I see a really ironic trend. It seems that the higher the rating a movie gets on the tomatometer, the lower-grossing that movie will be at the Box Office. The obvious conclusion: Aim for crap! Eskew quality! Run from art!

Scavenger Hunt!
Ok boys and girls; for this scavenger hunt we’re using TVTropes as our playground.

Bush is not dead (some vague analogy to Saddam Hussein circa 1991 comes to mind. Is that wrong?) The recent rejection of Obama’s stimulus package by every single Republican in the House reflects this.
Ontological Inertia
We still have the Patriot Act, [...]

Today I’m reading an interesting article about Obama 2.0 - a newly-coined word to describe the President’s vast lobbying and campaigning network as it redefines itself post-election.
Of course some republicans are quick to cast aspersion and raise doubt (shocking no one.) I really hope that this amazing Web 2.0-ingrained, social-network driven machine is well [...]

I was impressed by this video’s concept as much as by the song itself.
(The song is by Oren Lavie, and it’s called “Her morning elegance.”)
